Via Boing-Boing, I’ve learned about The Fizz Cup, the do-it-yourself twist on ice cream soda float.
So, um, what exactly is the convenience factor? The cup DOESN’T COME PRE-FILLED WITH ICE CREAM!!! You STILL have to scoop your own ice cream. But instead of putting it directly in a glass of soda, you have to gingerly push it into a small plastic container, then screw that container onto another bottle. Hello! That sounds like it would take LONGER.
This only seems convenient if you aren’t able to put soda in a glass, and you only have plastic bottles around. But if you are in a place where you have to scoop your own ice cream, i.e. your home, what is the likelihood that you wouldn’t have a glass around? Slim to none. Likewise, when at your own home, aren’t you more likely to have a big 2-liter bottle of soda that you would pour into glasses than small plastic bottles that you might attach this too?
I don’t get it. Nor do I want to get it.
