A cheeseburger in a pan, if you will. It hits the salty, sweet, and savory spots all at once and it’s killer at a party. When I dive in, I feel as if I’ve quelled my inner fat kid. My spoon crunches through the tater tot crust down to the hamburger and luscious sauce. The sounds make my mouth water and the aromatics permeate my kitchen. Saltiness complimented by juiciness is waiting to be scarfed down. A helping of ketchup or your favorite hot sauce (I love Anchor Bar’s Hotter Buffalo Wing Sauce) can add some extra kick. A few important notes for consideration: I recommend using 93/7 lean beef because it has the right amount of juiciness and flavor, but doesn’t cause the tater tots to get soggy. As far as the tater tots go, I prefer using the Ore-Ida Extra Crispy Tater Tots for ideal crunch, but other brands will work as well. Additionally, I love using Campbell’s 98% fat free cream of chicken soup because it has the best mouth-taste, flavor, and consistency for this sauce.
