So Good previously wrote about plans for a new Western Bacon Thickburger Hardee’s ad starring Top Chef host Padma Lakshimi. Well that ad has now been released, and it does not disappoint. This ad is HOT. AdRants says the commercial “redefines food porn.” Watch Padma seductively eat a burger, even using her finger to grab the drop of ketchup that drips onto her leg.
Via pretty much any food, advertising or Top Chef blog, including EOnline, YumSugar, AdRants, Buzzfeed and Lemmonex.

This new commercial is nothing but soft porn and shame on Hardees. I always thought it was a family restaurant. This would be o.k. if it were in the special section at Blockbuster and only adult mails could rent it. It now can be seen children who have no business looking at porn of any kind.

I love the new hardees commercial. I see it as a piece of art, combining the beautiful Padma and a little sex appeal to sell the ad and get the product out to their consumers. For those that believe that this is soft porn they need to get out of the All in the Family days and come into the new century.It’s a known fact that sex sells, a study completed by the AS shows 75% of americans are more likely to by a product associated with sex appeal. Still love Padma Laskshmi.

I have been fed up with Hardees commercials for a long time- this last commercial is no different. Are the burgers so bad they have to use sex to sell them?? I used to think they were pretty good… but no more.

I agree 100%.That commercial is defininately not something i want my children looking at.What is tv coming to?There are other ways to advrtise your food other than using a sex ad to sell it.I will not spend one more penny at Hardees so they can use my money to make such sorry commercials!!!!!

I totally totally agree! I get so disgusted everytime a Hardees commercial comes on…I usually change the channel. I too am a heterosexual woman with two daughters. This is not an image I want my children to see. I use to think Hardees burgers were pretty good, but like many of you, I will NEVER eat there again. I don’t understand why they want to use that kind of ad to sell burgers. Ugggg!!!

Well I think we have settled it. Hetero women hate it and hetero men love it. Men are visually motivated and women are stimulated emotionally and romatically. There is not much romantic about the commerical. And I think allot of you women (wives) could learn from this woman and the commercial. Why do you think that your husbands are drawn to it in the first place?

It has been very interesting reading these comments. Funny how women hate this commercial and some men love it. I have to ask what does sex have to do with hamburgers? I agree that I would not want my kids to see this commercial, it should be shown in prime time only. Mick, you are assuming that the women (wives) are not sexy and that’s why they don’t like it – shame on you! Also you shouldn’t assume that all the husbands are drawn to it, my significant other thinks its a stupid ad. (You know what they say about assuming.) And Shields, why do you think that everyone who disses this ad is a loser? Interesting take on that. At least Gerald just said what he thought without criticizing others. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and shouldn’t be chastised for how they feel. That is the great thing about this country, you are allowed to have your own opinion on anything without consequences. Personally I think it is a pointless ad, you do have to ask what they are trying to sell. Why does the marketing team feel they need to use sex to sell their product? Is their product not good enough without the sexual aspect? They might want to go back to the drawing board since this commercial obviously seems to have drawn lines between men and women. I’m guessing that there were very few women on the marketing team. I’m surprised that they didn’t realize they would alienate approximately half of the population. I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree about this controversial commercial!

I thought Hardee’s was a family restaurant. This type of commercial has no place in the world of children. I will not be going to Hardee’s any time in the future. Shame on Hardee’s for exploiting women to young children like they are doing in this commercial. I’m going to tell everyone I know to boycott the restaurant.
