Time for a new Would You Rather, with a battle of pancake/waffle toppings. But this isn’t your traditional keep-one-sacrifice- the-other question. Nope, this one is far more disgusting and gut punishing.

Option #1: You must eat 8 sticks (2 pounds) of butter.

Option #2: You must drink a gallon of pure, Grade-A Vermont Maple Syrup.

Here’s what makes it even tougher: you have to eat/drink these STRAIGHT. No using it in other food, with a recipe or as a topping/condiment. In fact, you are not allowed to eat or drink anything except water until you have completed this task, however long it takes you.

Let us know in the comments why you think one option might be preferable to the other.

Both seem quite disturbing to have to eat alone. It seems like eating all that butter at one time would like either make you have a heart attack, have a stroke, or vomit. Syrup seems innocent enough. If I could’ve voted on my phone, that would’ve been my vote.

I think I would have to go syrup. As much as I love butter as an ingredient and cooking medium, on it’s own it just doesn’t do ti for me.

If i want to pass 3 days strait to the bathroom… i would drink the maple syrup… But… i would choose Quebec maple syrup… for quality and taste.

Just the thought of eating butter strait makes me want to throw up. The way it would coat your entire mouth….. seems like your taste buds would never be the same.

Seconding the Quebec maple syrup. Once you move here, you’re awesomely spoiled for choice.

Sadly, I’ve seen the syrup thing done…I’ll go with that since I know it’s possible.

This poll question brings back memories of walking past the boys bathroom in high school and smelling this horrible, sweet but disgusting scent which could only mean that some kid decided to chug the syrup and then threw it all up again.
