It’s Wednesday! Which means its Would You Rather time.  This  time we look ahead to Thanksgiving and go with a question themed around some classic Thanksgiving Foods. We’ve delved into this category before, but  never a question like this. Gravy vs. Pumpkin Pie…everyday…for eternity.

Option #1: You must eat one cup of gravy a day.

Option #2: You must eat one slice of pumpkin pie a day.

What do you think So Good readers? Which would you choose and why?

Oh, gravy, all the way. Think about how versatile gravy is when compared to pumpkin pie. Biscuits and gravy, ham with red-eye gravy, even plain-ass poultry gravy with some potatoes. The only real problem would be caloric, but that’s easily remedied with portion control. Half a cup with breakfast, the other half cup with dinner, and a light, healthy lunch.

    THE CHOICE IS CLEAR, PEOPLE.

I think most people will assume gravy is worse for you, and most people will be wrong. A cup of gravy will give you as much as 2/3rds your sodium for the day, but calories only range from 80 to 250 depending on what type of gravy. A slice of pumpkin pie can range between 250 and 550 calories with as much or more fat than the gravy.

Plus, pumpkin pie isn’t that good, you’d be sick of it instantly. Gravy can be incorporated into almost anything.

I’m with Ben in this one!

Considering the only pumpkin I like is Pumpkin Spiced Ale, I would rather starve than eat pumpkin pie everyday. And the calories thing is an added bonus

I’m going for pumpkin pie, mostly because I don’t even use a full cup of gravy when I DO want gravy.

And I will typically eat a slice of pumpkin pie a day for as long as there is pie.

    I love pumpkin pie.

I have no choice, and it’s a bad choice. I don’t like pumpkin pie, but I agree with Lis that a whole cup would get really old really fast. Sigh.

I’m with Ben on this one, pumpkin pie is great and all but I’d get sick of it after a few months. Whereas there’s a lot you can do with gravy.

Since we’re not told that we have to give up either food altogether, I have to go with pumpkin pie. I love gravy, but it’s only so often that I find myself eating a dish that could use it.
