It’s Monday, which means it’s time for another Eating Styles poll. This week we’re curious about your opinion on homemade ketchup.

As a smaller part of the ever-burgeoning locally-sourced food movement, some restaurants are beginning to concoct their own versions of the sauce that is notoriously difficult to emulate: ketchup. These restaurant versions aren’t always right on the mark, and are usually thicker, darker and sweeter than your average bottle of Heinz.

While some people get excited about the flavor/texture possibilities, others remain loyal to the salty, gloriously synthetic gold standard of store-bought ketchup. Which do you prefer, So Good readers? Vote for your favorite option below and explain in the comments.

Sounds good, but I don’t think I’ve ever been to a place that served homemade ketchup. And when I do go to fancy places I don’t tend to order things like french fries that would need ketchup.
