On the heels of Barack Obama’s primary victory in Vermont, Slate urged its readers to think up a name for an Obama themed Ben & Jerry’s flavor. Ben & Jerry themselves have endorsed Obama, after which they sent two trucks around Vermont to give out “Cherries for Change” ice cream in support of his candidacy. However, Slate is seeking a flavor more directly inspired by Obama. Early entries included Peanut Butter Barackle, Obamana Split, and Barackadamia Nut. But after one recent suggestion, Slate quickly realized its simplistic genius: “Yes, Pecan!”
