Serious Eats writes about the brisket-on-potato latke sandwich sold at Junior’s in Brooklyn, NY. Both they and Menu Pages Philadelphia were speculating about using leftover latkes as “bread” for a creative sandwich, and shared with their readers the version sold at Junior’s, which Serious Eats dubbed, the “Jewish Monte Cristo.” Look good? Then take your heart medicine, because you know this one can’t be good for you.
Interestingly, my lunch yesterday was actually a “Gentile Monte Cristo”, or as us non-Jews refer to it, a Monte Cristo.

jesus christ (OK maybe not an appropriate exclamation) but this is funny cause I was just thinking about Juniors – it’s two blocks from my new crib and I still haven’t been – that sandwich is def on the to-do list
