Quizno’s Unveils “Sammies”

From Junk Food Blog, I learn that Quizno’s has unveiled a new line of flat-bread sandwiches called “Sammies.”

First off let me start of by saying I hate Quizno’s. I hate it, hate it, hate it. It is by far the worst of the national sandwich chains, below Potbelly’s, Subway, Blimpie, and probably any other chain you can name. I still remember the “steak” in their steak & chili bread bowl, blech! That stuff wasn’t even fit to be dog food.

Also, the biggest problem with Quizno’s is price. Explain to me why I need to pay $10 for a large sub? Also, even if I get the regular sub with some chips and a drink, why am I paying $9.72 when I could get that same meal for $2-$3 less at any of the other chains? Not only that, but Quizno’s has an appallingly bad selection of vegetables to put on their sandwiches in comparison to the other chains.

But, by golly, they might be on to something with these Sammies. Apparently, they are going to retail for only $2. Wow. Even if these are smaller than you might think, I’m guessing two of them could fill me up no problem. Plus, at least in the pictures, they appear to be chock full of veggies.

Quizno’s, I still hate you with a passion that burns with the strength of a thousand suns, but because you have been smart enough to come up with a reasonably tasty looking new product that is only $2, I promise I will head down the street and try one soon. You screwed me once with your “steak” and chili bread bowl, you screwed me twice with your $9 sandwiches, so I’m warning you, three strikes and you’re out…permanently. So you better hope these Sammies are as good as they look.

Oh yeah, and Potbelly’s FTW!

But don’t they lose points for stealing from Rachel Ray’s lexicon instead of being a bit more creative?

I’ve had potbelly’s once and thought it was OK.

Two chains that are not worthy of derision are Rising Roll and Jersey Mike’s.

Don’t talk down on Potbelly until you have a meatball sub with pepperoni and hot peppers…it’s a delight

‘The Wreck’ sandwich at Potbelly’s is a true delight. one of the best hot sandwiches out there.

also, eick, the prices you’ve listed for quizno’s; try adding about $3 to those in ny. just terrible.

I think Quiznos made a mistake. It should not be “sammies” it should have been quiznos “SCAMMIES”. Yes this will be the worlds smallest flatbread sandwich. And if you think 2 will fill you up….you are way wrong…Try 4- 8 of them.

Kudos to all other fast foodchains who serve dollar menus. You guys are far far better than quiznoz !!!!!

yeah, the sammies are tiny. a miniscule amount of veggies, and some cheese and meat. not all that much. you’ve got to go the extra mile at quiznos to get your money’s worth. i stick to the turkey sandwiches….the “premium” beef is where they have the $9 regular subs. oy

DOn’t eat these products, Ive been eating the salad for about 5 months and I have just found out that they use chlorine soloutions to wash the salad. I am soo upset, I’m sure if they told people this they would choose not to eat it!

I totally agree with the “Scammies” comment. The picture looks almost like a Taco Bell Gordita, but is like half the size. Hell, I can go to a taco stand and get some tacos, loaded with meat, bigger size for half the cost. TOTAL RIPOFF!!
