722 Whataburgers or Bust Eick July 26, 2011 Bizarre, Fast Food 1 Comment Updated Whataburger nutrition: http://secretmenus.com/whataburger/nutrition-info Karl and Carol Hoepfner visited a Whataburger for the first time in 1963. They were hooked. The couple, 75 and 73, estimate that each week there are only three meals they DON’T eat at Whataburger: “We eat every breakfast there and almost every lunch, although sometimes we go somewhere else for dinner.” Wow. Karl estimates he’s been to his local Whataburger more than 7,000 times. Why so fanatical? Says Karl: “I’ve been all over the world and it’s probably the best hamburger I’ve eaten.” The heart wants want it wants, eh? The couple, now retired, has decided to visit (although not eat at) all 722 Whataburger locations. They are currently traveling across the 10-states Whataburger is located in and have hit 225 locations so far. As you would expect from such creatures of habit, variety is not the spice of life. Their order is almost always exactly the same: a Whataburger with grilled onions and jalapenos for him, a Justaburger with grilled onions for her. Both of them order their buns toasted. Normally I’d be a bit more mocking and question the nutritional wisdom of such eating habits, as well as the boring-ness of such lack of variety in a diet. But c’mon, look at that photo above! Those two look way too sweet & adorable. If visiting 722 Whataburger locations is how they want to spend their retirement, I say enjoy!
