It’s Monday, which means it’s time for another Eating Styles poll. Bread is arguably the most popular food in the world, and seems to be present in some form in every country and culture. There’s something natural and compulsory about it. Bread feels like home. Or, as my drunk friend once texted me, “Bread’s good. All I need on my bread is more bread.” Seeing as today is National Sourdough Bread Day (get out the decorations!), we’ll swipe our next question from reader Keith Bistodeau: what’s your favorite type of bread?

Bread

For some people, the options at Subway are the extent of their bread knowledge. People who come to America from Europe, however, often scoff at the poor variety and quality of bread in this country. In Germany, for example, hard crusts and dark grains are the norm and our white, spongy version is considered the lowest rung on the bread chain, if not outwardly shunned. But elitist or not, we all have our favorites. Vote for your favorite option below and if it (inevitably) isn’t there, tell us your favorite type of bread in the comments.

After growing up on white soft bread, my taste buds have gotten more sophisticated and I can handle wheat bread. Whoa.
