Moose Chili Cooks in Crockpot During Sarah Palin’s First Post-Election Interview

by · November 11th, 2008 · 6 Comments

No seriously. Moose chili. Palin insisted it was not a prop.  An Anchorage Daily News reporter was at her house on Sunday to interview her immediately after Greta Van Sustern did.  According to the reporter, dinner for that night was already cooking, and was to be moose chili, moose cheese dogs (I didn’t even realize [...]

Get High, Eat Burritos, Stop Wasting My Money

by · November 10th, 2008 · 8 Comments

The Office of National Drug Control Policy has a new ad campaign intended to “promote” jobs that a pot-head could actually do, like couch guard or burrito taster. The ad concludes with the line, “Hey, not trying to be your mom, but there aren’t many jobs out there for potheads.” Adrants likes the design of [...]

Bacon Will Never Be Defeated

by · November 6th, 2008 · 4 Comments

French fries gave it a valiant effort, but it appears no one will ever top bacon.  Amusing screenshot from election night of a local TV station in Colorado. Kind of reminds me of when we spotted a Crystal Pepsi fanatic at the convention. Big props to Al Dente and Flickr user lazerdave for the picture, [...]

Election Cookies Predict Outcome?

by · November 4th, 2008 · 1 Comment

I just received two sets of delicious election cookies from Eleni’s of NYC c/o a colleague – one featuring Obama and one featuring McCain. Now, I might be reading too much into this, but the picture of Obama looks quite strong, while the McCain cookie looks a little green around the gills. Is this cookie foreshadowing [...]

Vote For Free Food!

by · November 4th, 2008 · 6 Comments

Per Eick’s earlier message, please get out and vote today. But don’t just listen to me – listen to all the offers for free food after you have voted. How about a star-shaped Krispy Kreme doughnut with red, white and blue sprinkles (my personal fave)? How about a free scoop from Ben and Jerry’s? How [...]

People REALLY Want to Know Obama & McCain’s Favorite Food

by · November 3rd, 2008 · 5 Comments

Time for a little fun with Google Analytics.  Based purely on looking at the stats for So Good, I have to assume that people are obsessing over the election and very little else right now.  Check out the top ten search terms that brought people to So Good over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday): Wow. It’s Hard to Look Smart While Eating

by · October 30th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Thanks to the wit & wisdom of Extreme Mortman, I have become aware that the National Republican Senatorial Committee has put out a new ad for the razor tight Senate race in Oregon. It features some not very flattering footage of Democratic candidate Jeff Merkley eating what appears to be a sandwich while being asked [...]

Win a Box of Sarah’s Kickin’ Mooseburger Helper!

by · October 20th, 2008 · 7 Comments

Last week, I wrote about a new novelty product called Sarah’s Kickn’ Mooseburger Helper, which was made by the creators of Obama Waffles. Shortly after posting, I was contacted by the creator of the product, who sent me a free box for me to give away here on So Good. For those interested in ordering [...]

Obama O’s & Cap’n McCain’s

by · October 11th, 2008 · 4 Comments

The political food stories keep coming.  From TechCrunch, I’ve learned of two limited edition cereals, created by the operators of the website AirBed & Breakfast.  Obama O’s promise “hope in every bowl,” while Cap’N McCain’s offer “a maverick in every bite.”  Each box costs $39, and only 500 boxes were produced of each.
