On Thursday I’m leaving for a three week vacation, including 16 days in New Zealand and Australia. I’ve never traveled outside the country other than Canada, and I’ve never actually taken a vacation longer than a week before. Needless to say, I’m incredibly excited. But have no fear So Good readers, the blogging will go [...]

I suppose I’m a few days late on this, but screw it, I was enjoying my vacation too much to dive into this. But here, in this post, I humbly present to you the Top 5 Stories Covered on So Good in 2008. This Top 5 has been determined by the blog traffic for each [...]

A few days ago, So Good was selected as a finalist for “Best Food Blog” in the 2008 weblog awards. The competition is stiff, but considering what a great year we had here at So Good, I think we stand a decent chance of winning – but to do so I need your help. You [...]

As we head into the holidays, I just wanted to take a minute to thank all my loyal readers for helping November become the biggest month in So Good history and for continuing to make the time and energy I put into writing this blog worthwhile.
So Good started in August, 2007, with little more than [...]

Time for a little fun with Google Analytics. Based purely on looking at the stats for So Good, I have to assume that people are obsessing over the election and very little else right now. Check out the top ten search terms that brought people to So Good over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday):
Wow. Every [...]
Well, it’s that time of year again. Voting is now open for the Blogger’s Choice Awards ‘09. Like last year, I have placed So Good in nomination for Best Food Blog and Best Humor Blog.
I would really appreciate it if all my readers could take a couple minutes to vote for So Good in [...]

So, August 8th marked the one-year anniversary of So Good. Considering that I went from about 500 readers in the first month, to 75,000 last month, I probably should have said something about how great my readers are, thanks for spreading the word etc. etc. Or maybe I should have prepared a post [...]

Two weeks ago, I put out the call for some new contributors to join me in posting on So Good. The response was overwhelming, as more than 20 people expressed interest in contributing. After pouring over applications, requesting SAT scores and over-analyzing my e-mail exchanges with each of the contenders, I finally settle [...]

I wanted to give an update from my post soliciting contributors for So Good. I’ve been overwhelmed with the response, as already 14 people have expressed interest. This has forced me to revise my thinking a little bit – I wasn’t expecting that many people. Right now I’m trying to decide how many people I [...]

Writing So Good began as a labor of love. A way to share my rants about food, Would You Rather questions and my critiques of food marketing campaigns. When So Good launched in August of 2007, I had 994 unique monthly visitors , and 1,900 in September. But thanks to my readers continued support, [...]

The segment from WJW Fox 8 about the “Crybaby” t-shirt incident has been posted online. It provides a good overview of the whole story. It features some coverage of So Good breaking the story, and they used two segements from my phone interview with them. Unlike the story I was cited in by the Cleveland [...]

A very cool development my fellow So Good readers. As you may know, two days ago I broke the story about Ryan Giesel, a student who started a Facebook group titled “If 100,000 people join, I’ll eat every McDonalds value meal, #1-12.”
Well by yesterday morning, the story had migrated from the internet to the airwaves, [...]

Although blogging at So Good did not begin until mid-August of 2007, the amount of “food, folks and fun” that we packed into those 4 1/2 months is surely enough to get me arrested in 23 of the lower 48 states.
The Top 6 So Good blog posts of 2007 have been selected based on several [...]

Yesterday, January 8th, So Good broke its own record for traffic in one day, with 17,000 hits. This is thanks to rampant interest in our story about Mike Huckabee eating horse meat, and continued interest in the Whopper Freakout video. This shattered our previous high of 13,000 hits, set on December 16th.
Thank you So [...]

Greetings So Good readers. Even the wittiest food bloggers amongst us need some time off. In a few hours, I’ll be boarding a plane to Miami for a week long cruise through the Carribean. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to a week away from work and a week in the sun and [...]
