It’s Monday, which means it’s time for another Eating Styles poll. Now is about the time when you should be starting your New Year’s resolution (or, if you’re like me, giving up on it). If your New Year’s resolution involves healthier eating, chances are you’ll probably be seeing a lot of salad on your plate for the next few weeks.

Lettuce by itself sucks, as do most other vegetables. Luckily there are plenty of ways to make a salad tastier. We’ve already asked you what kind of salad dressing you like, and whether you like that dressing on the side, so this week we want to know: what kinds of foods do you put on your salad to make it more bearable? Croutons? Sunflower seeds? Almonds? M&Ms? Vote for your favorite option below and explain in the comments.

If we’re confessing guilty secrets, I also eat my salad in order from worst (healthiest) to best (least healthy). I.e. lettuce first, carrots/tomatoes/cucumbers etc, then chicken/cheese/etc. An embarrassing habit.

gotta go with the seeds—-they are also good as a topping on ice cream and puddings!!!

What – no Bacon??
Try chow mein noodles. Almonds and sunflower seeds aren’t exactly guilty: you could try raisins or Craisins (sweetened dried cranberries).

Most vegetables suck? Sounds like someone was mugged by a lettuce farmer when they were a kid. I love salad, and most any vegetable you add to it. I could eat salads with just lettuce/onion/peppers/tomatoes all day long. Sometimes I’ll just have a salad that’s straight up lettuce with balsamic vinegar.
I usually add walnuts. Sometimes croutons. Also, avocados have become a regular part of almost any salad I make now.
