In four days of voting this week, Bacon, the #1 seed from the Pork Region, has defeated Steak, the #1 seed from the Red Meat Region, to claim the title of Meat Madness champion and greatest meat in the land.  Bacon defeated Steak 57% – 43%, earning 465 votes to Steak’s 351.  Congratulations to Bacon and all the fervent bacon supporters in the blogosphere who helped propel their beloved meat to victory.

Thank you to each and every one of you who followed Meat Madness, either as readers and spectators or as active voters.

Justice is done. Let Bacon take its rightful crown, to reign over the other meats it has defeated

I love how when bacon beats out steak it becomes a “fad”. I guess if that makes the steak lovers feel better about losing they can consider it that way.

    Yea!! Steak wins!!!

I love bacon just as much as anyone else, but I know the fix was in, and refuse to recognize it as the winner. It’s kind of like a poll where Abba beats out Led Zeppelin. Most know who’s the better of the two, but nothing could be done to stop rabid fans from fixing the results.

Oh come on, and Miley Cyrus is the best musician in the world? Of course not, but she has millions of rabid fans who would vote for her over Led Zeppelin any day. Everyone has different tastes, respect the winner.

Also, this has nothing to do with me predicting bacon as the overall winner, which didn’t take a rocket scientist to do.

@Taylor But bacon has turned into a fad, for the moment. It’s been a staple in many recipes for a long time, but it has gone viral in almost every way possible on the internet in the past year. So all of the blogs cashing in on your interest can just send their fans on over – I’m surprised steak did as well as it did.

It’s kind of like Colbert when he tells his followers to do…well, anything. 😉 Or 4channers voting up Rick Astley.
