In September of 2008 I placed an order with The Giant Hamburger and purchased one of their giant hamburger kits.

I was a little skeptical of the website at first (lots of spelling and grammatical errors) and wasn't sure if I should make the purchase. The idea that someone out there was baking huge hamburger buns and selling on the internet seemed a little iffy. At the time they had a phone number available, and so I called and spoke with someone before placing my order.

The bun arrived along with the rest of the hamburger making supplies and instructions (riddled with spelling errors). We had a great time making the giant hamburger and assembling it for a Birthday party.

One thing that I thought was neat was that every person who purchases something from this website is automatically entered into their Giant Hamburger Giveaway. When I placed my order I was entered into a drawing to win a Canon EOS Rebel XT Digital Camera.

On November 7, 2008 the Giant Hamburger notified me that I was the WINNER of the camera. I was so excited.

Unfortunately, this never came to fruition.

On November 30, 2008 the company claimed that they were waiting for Canon to send the camera to them so they could ship it to me.

On December 12, 2008 they claimed that they would ship the camera overnight once they received it.

On December 24, 2008 they claimed that they would give Canon two weeks to provide the camera, after which they would purchase one and send it to me within two weeks.

On February 3, 2009 their website went down and it looked like they were out of business. They claimed that they were working with their hosting company to get things up and running again. They urged me to continue to inquire about the status and delivery of my prize and insured me that the prize would be mine.

My last correspondence with the company was on March 17, 2009:

"Hi Jennie, I know I said this before we're very sorry for the delay on your prize we're going to do a grand opening soon. and we plan to do this with your photo holding your camera. we're glad your still contacting us the camera is your no matter what! we'll get back with with soon.

The Giant Hamburger"

It's 2011 now and I continued to e-mail them periodically throughout 2009 and 2010 to find out about my prize.

I noticed that their website was up and running in late December and was hoping that they would have contacted me or shipped my prize like they promised they would.

During one of my most recent visits to their website they even showed a new winner from one of their giveaways who won a Magnavox DVD player. I wonder if that person ever received it.

In short, I'm not sure what the problem was and I can only assume that I was never to receive the prize.

Do not do business with this company.

<!--%kramer-ref-pre%-->[...] Our seats were at the bar! Right in front of the grill where they filmed the Man-vs-Food spot. It was alot of fun! I think that these are our sandwiches. She is getting ready to add fries on top of the second sandwich as she is smashing down the first sandwich.
Now that you mentioned the show, I wish I did see it. As someone originally from there, I'll watch any show that features or even shows a picture of Pittsburgh. Primanti Brothers is definitely a Pittsburgh treasure.
