When I first started this blog, my Would You Rather? questions were a hot attraction and reader favorite. Sadly, somewhere along the line I got too focused on keeping up with the “food news” and forgot that those questions are essential for what this blog is all about: facilitating off-beat and unique thoughts and discussions [...]

Free Taco’s Today
by Eick · October 30th, 2007 · No Comments
For those of you who actually enjoy Taco Bell (not me), you can get a free hard-shell beef taco today. Taco Bell’s “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” promotion is going to fulfill their free taco for everyone in America pledge today. Of course, it’s not really being made accesible to everyone in America. Conveniently, [...]

I Demand a Juicy Burger

Light blogging this weekend because I’ve been Halloween party hopping. A week or two ago I ordered a Wendy’s wig on the internet and I went out dressed as the guy from the Wendy’s commercial. It turned out being a great choice, you’re easily recognizable, even from a distance. Plus when I [...]

From movie star to hostess at a restaurant?
Apparently her boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, owns a Cuban restaurant called Cafe Fuego World Tapas and Berry is eager to work there…as a hostess. Reportedly Aubry won’t let her.
This is moronic for two reasons. First, Aubry isn’t really thinking business savvy here. Can you imagine how [...]

Hat tip to and I am not lying, where I first read about this. Apparently there are a series of pictures bouncing around the internet from someone making a pizza with McDonald’s food as toppings. There are six pictures total, but I’ll give you the two important ones. First, the “toppings” are [...]

Taco Bell is Just Giving Away Tacos

Or at least they will be, as soon as someone steals a base in the World Series.
While neither the Red Sox nor the Rockies are stolen base crazy, run-first type teams, there has been a stolen base in every World Series since 1990, so it seems like a pretty safe bet this will happen. [...]

Best Burgers? Wendy’s. Fries? McDonalds.
by Eick · October 19th, 2007 · 3 Comments
No that’s not my opinion necessarily, it’s based on the results of the new national Zagat fast food survey in which Wendy’s seems to be the big winner. In the fast food “mega-chain” (more than 5,000 outlets) category, Wendy’s was selected #1 overall, beating out Subway, Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen and McDonald’s respectively.
When all [...]

Of course by “you” I mean “consumers” and by “consumers” I mean Americans in general. What is prompting such a negative comment from me? Nefarious Ron Paul Supporters Plotting to Spam Food Banks Across the Country
by Eick · October 16th, 2007 · 9 Comments

Despite absolutely NO EVIDENCE that food banks have specifically asked Paul supporters to donate food, his supporters are hatching a plot [...]
